Teaching/Administrative Staff

Academic Support Teacher

 

Providence Christian High School is accepting applications for a .5 FTE Academic Support Teacher.  The primary objective of this role is to assist students in achieving academic success.  The incumbent will provide comprehensive diagnostic-prescriptive learning plans for any student who requests or requires assistance. This teacher must be adept at working with students in small groups or individually.  Practical responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: providing supplemental instruction, tutoring, testing, teaching study skills/techniques, consulting with teachers and parents, and other duties as assigned.  A valid teaching certificate is required and a special education endorsement is preferred.

 

Coaching

Boys' Varsity Baseball Coach

(seeking to begin 2012-2013 season)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous coaching and/or playing experience (Varsity preferred)

Strong organizational skills and knowledge of rules governing the sport     

 Professing Christian able to build quality relationships with our Christian student athletes

 

Job Requirements

Be knowledgeable and adhere to PCHS and MHSAA policies and procedures

Be knowledgeable and effective at teaching skills, strategies and fundamentals of baseball consistent at the Varsity level.

Effective communication with administration, athletes, parents, and community

Be an effective Christian role model emphasizing spiritual growth within the Christian faith through prayer, devotions, etc...; as well as displaying respect and model leadership skills.

  Attend all meetings, banquets, post-season evaluation, and post-season awards programs.

Cooperate with all administration and school staff.

Develop well organized practice and game plan by collaborating with fellow coaches, including overseeing the entire boys basketball program.

Derive from the practice plan a well organized practice schedule to be distributed to athletes, parents, and athletic office.

Meet all deadlines for paperwork.

Dress appropriately for games, practices, and other school/athletic functions.

 Foster school spirit by promoting other sports, clubs, and co-curricular activities. Maintain fair, consistent, understanding and positive relationships with athletes.

 Maintain composure and conduct during practice and games.

All other duties assigned.

 

Pursuant to Public Act 68 of 1993 and Public Act of 1995, the selected candidate, upon hire, must submit to fingerprints and criminal background check.
